Why can't we just call it all "pollution"? Because if you want to save the planet, you need a specific game plan!
If a company wants to lower its Scope 1 emissions, they might switch to electric vehicles or upgrade to cleaner heating systems. If they want to tackle Scope 2, they might switch their energy provider to a wind farm or a solar company.
By splitting them up, we can figure out exactly where the carbon is coming from and how to fix it. It’s like a doctor diagnosing whether your headache is from too much coffee (Scope 1) or just bad lighting (Scope 2).
Next time you see these terms, just remember: Scope 1 is direct, Scope 2 is the electricity you bought. Easy peasy! 🌱
