An electric ell

An electric eel is a freshwater fish famous for producing powerful electric shocks.

• 🌎 Habitat: Freshwater rivers and floodplains of South America
• ⚡ Electricity: Can produce discharges of more than 800 volts in some species
• 🐟 Diet: Fish, amphibians, insects, and other small animals
• 👀 Special ability: Uses electricity both to find prey and to defend itself.
• 📏 Size: Can grow to around 2–2.5 meters (6.5–8 feet).

Despite its name, an electric eel is actually a type of knifefish, not a true eel.
