UNDERSTANDING HOW GOD SUBTLY COMMUNICATES

"Even though Edom has said, “We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places,” Thus says the Lord of hosts: “They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever."
Malachi 1:4 (NKJV)

In the above passage of the Bible, we could see what happens to the person or people whom God is angry with. The Edomites said they would return and build their desolate places, but God said He will throw down if they did build (Malachi 1:4). There are some believers who are having challenges or facing difficulties and could not know the reason why they are going through that which they are going through.

God is the One monitoring the case of some people because they are under God's wrath—they are being chastised or disciplined by God. One of the signs to know that your case or suffering is being supervised or monitored by God is, you would be having frustration or resistance in whatever you attempt to do—in all your endeavours.

When you attempt several things and you are being frustrated in all, it is a sign of someone who God is against or fighting. If God is against someone, whichever side the person turns, there would be no help, and whatever he lays hands on, there would be no results or success.

If God is against someone, He will not come directly for you to know He is against you. God does not communicate straight. You get to know that God is angry when things that usually work without any effort started dragging, then you would know He is not in favour of what you are doing, or what you are about to do.

A believer who is wise, and walking in the spirit, would always be watchful whenever he is doing anything.

What would you be watching?
You would have to be watching how things are going. Are things going on smoothly without stress or there are hitches? When God is not in a thing that you are doing as a believer, you would not receive the usual favour that you normally receive from people.

What is being shared here is one of the little signs which God uses, that may look insignificant. However, it is one of the nonverbal ways through which God communicates to believers about whatever they are doing or about to do.

Whatever I am embarking on, I would be sure to receive God's approval, and be looking for signs to serve as a validation; to know whether what I am doing is approved or favoured by God. When you ignored such precautions and signs, as a believer, you do that to your own detriment.

Now, this might not be meaningful to an unbeliever, or a natural person, or a nominal Christian, or a carnal believer (1 Corinthians 2:14).

A lot of believers do not understand God, what they call minor or
insignificant events that do not matter are things that matter—they are not insignificant at all, rather, they are messages from God. But a lot of believers trivialized these nonverbal messages of God, and they usually pay dearly for such trivialization or the slightness.

The Edomites in the text said they had been impoverished, but they would return and build the desolate places. But God in return or reply to their boastfulness: "THEY MAY BUILD, BUT I WILL THROW DOWN" (Malachi 1:4).

When you are constantly being frustrated in your bid to do a particular thing, as a believer, know that God is against you in doing that thing. In a situation like that, a wise believer would not be insisted on doing the thing, or continued in doing it, such would go to
God and ask in order to know His mind about it.

Does God not want you to continue with the project? Why does He not want you to continue? Is there anything that God is calling your attention to? What mainly does God want you to do? And what does He want you to do instead?

Note: before you ask these questions, you must have been broken and be willing to do whatever the answer would be. If you would still not agree with God after you have known His mind on it, you might not get the right and accurate answer on it. In fact, God may not say anything on it, if you ask Him.

Thus, you must be ready to cooperate and do whatever He says. If God says you should stop pursuing the project or whatever, do that exactly and lay it to rest, that is, discard the plan completely. However, if you want to be adamant, then, be ready for a lot of frustration.

As you keep planning and building, God will keep scattering as you have seen in the case of the Edomites—the text of this teaching.

You will not suffer unnecessarily in Jesus' name.

Peace.
