Jumping in on this older post — from my experience, multiple clear photos from different angles work best, especially with even lighting. A single phone photo can be okay, but shadows and angles can distort the face. I’ve had good luck using a front, side, and three-quarter shot. Are you planning to take new photos or working with something you already have?
