78 year old granny sets world record for oldest streaming gamer

Here's a feel good story to mix up your day with all the political propaganda and me throwing stories about the government keeping the poor perpetually poor with the lottery. A 78 year old Scottish granny has been honored with a Guinness World Record for being the "Oldest female Fortnite player" in the world. her name is Cath Bowie and her username I guess it is called is "grumpygran48"

I recall trying to play videogames with my own grandfather quite a few years ago and he humored me by playing but I don't think he was actually paying attention or even trying to be good at it. It was a 2-player shooter game of sorts and he would just sit there and spin round in circles shooting at nothing in particular and dying immediately if anything shot at him. I don't think he was even aware of where he was on the screen and also didn't even try to move or do anything at all.

Cath was delighted to get the news that she will be featured in the 2027 book and I am sure that made everyone feel good. Who doesn't like happy grannys?

She says that she saw her grandson playing Fortnite back in 2017 and became intrigued by it. She learned how to play and has been doing so for the past 9 years. She says she tried other games but none of them hold her interest like Fortnite so she just never bothered changing.

I've personally never played it so I don't know what it is all about but that's wonderful that she enjoys it and wonderful-er that Guinness saw to recognize her with this award that I am sure she will treasure.

I don't know how many followers she has or even where to find her but if you are into that sort of thing her name is grumpygran48 somewhere, probably Twitch or something else I don't ever use.

This news isn't dumb like I normally report on, this is a puff-piece yeah, but at least it is something positive for once .
