Gold Breaks $3,900: XAUUSD Week Ahead (2–6 Nov 2026) and How I’m Handling NFP With Gold EA Pulse

in #gold • yesterday

Hi Steemit friends,

Gold had a rough week. XAUUSD broke below $3,900 on Friday and closed near $3,875, its lowest level in more than a year. Here's what happened, the levels I'm watching, and the news that could move gold this week.

XAUUSD week ahead 2–6 Nov (4 5 post)@1x.png

Why gold fell

  • Hawkish Fed. The Fed held rates at 3.75–4.00%, but 2 of 12 members voted for a hike. Markets now expect a December hike.
  • Inflation is heating up. US PCE inflation rose to 3.6% a year in September, its biggest monthly jump since March.
  • Oil spike. The attack near Hormuz pushed oil higher, which adds to inflation and rate fears.
  • Liquidation. Gold kept falling even when the dollar and yields dipped, a sign that big players are cutting positions.

Beginner lesson: gold pays no interest. When rates are expected to rise, holding gold becomes less attractive, so price often falls. That's why Fed news matters so much for XAUUSD.

Key levels

LevelWhat it means
4,227Bearish view is invalid above this
4,015 – 4,040Resistance zone bulls need to reclaim
3,900Broken support, now likely resistance
3,875Friday close
3,800Next support analysts are watching

Sentiment is heavily bearish. In Kitco's weekly survey, only 1 of 16 Wall Street analysts expected gold to rise this week. Retail traders were still slightly bullish.

High-impact news this week

  • Tue 3 Nov: US midterm elections (expect volatility)
  • Fri 6 Nov: US Nonfarm Payrolls, the biggest event of the week
  • Tue 10 Nov: US CPI, which could decide the December Fed meeting

How I'm handling NFP with my EA

Gold can move $30 to $100+ in minutes around NFP. Spreads widen and slippage gets worse, which is exactly when many EAs get hurt.

That's why I built a news filter into Gold EA Pulse, the XAUUSD Expert Advisor I develop. It pauses trading around high-impact events like NFP and CPI instead of trading straight into the spike.

Whether you trade manually or with an EA, my rules for this week:

  1. Lower your lot size or stay out during NFP.
  2. Always use a stop loss.
  3. Never risk more than 1–2% of your account per trade.
  4. Don't catch a falling knife. Wait for price to confirm a bounce before buying.

What's your view: will gold hold $3,800 or bounce back above $4,000? Let me know in the comments.
