I don’t think people will ever learn from the past; their memory is too short for that, and I suspect that a lack of compassion for others also plays a very significant role. Selfish – that’s how people have always been: thinking of themselves first, lining their own pockets, and only then of others – although that consideration for others is lacking, just like loyalty and the awareness of who once helped you on your way. Let alone returning a favour.

You have brought the three stories behind these paintings to life in a unique way and, above all, in your own way.
Although season and time always play a part in a haiku, this is certainly clear. I cannot imagine anyone failing to understand your poetry. It was a joy reading you.

What do you think of this, @quotes-haven?

I guess there are two parts to your question.

Firstly, people are people and will always be people. Self-preservation, and instant gratification comes first. That is why after all these years, humans are still in such a sorry state.
However, not all humans are like that. There is still a small section of the population who behave humanely. You just don't run into them as often as you run into the self-serving ones.

I like Haikus. But they are difficult to understand. Just like some Zen sayings. I get the gist of what was said about the three paintings, but I don't know if they are correct.

This vote is yours and deserved! Let's read, comment and connect.

Thank you! I appreciate that.

I thought you would understand these, since it comes with a painting and they are not like official Haikus, less a puzzle, closer to a meme.

Frequently I do not understand memes or find them boring.

Could you write a haiku if it comes to describing something and by counting the syllables? If so you wrote a poem.

I can be quite slow at times.

The other consideration is. The artist and the person who wrote the haikus are different people. That's where the confusion is (for me) in this case. I tried to see if the haikus say what the pictures mean.

I can understand the haikus no problem. Maybe I think too much.

I was interested in haikus years ago. I tried writing some. Nothing came out of it. Maybe, I will surprise you with one - one of these days.

There are times we all. Are slow, kind of slow cooking, till it is clear what could be meant.

I also think to much. It depends on who writes, reads if the message is received. If not, most likely another did, which is also fine. Art is what the receiver sees/feels.

i read you haiku, thank you.

Yes @wakeupkitty, the art of haiku, is millennial and has its rules. I adopted the part that fascinated me for its brevity and restraint. Especially because of the depth that it contains to tell something poetically and with few words. May the great master Matsuo Bashō forgive me for wanting to follow his passion in my style. As for the indolence of people, every day it becomes more evident and painful for those of us who still have some sensitivity.
