RE: Annie and her grandchildren

in Venezolanos Steem • 6 days ago

I find it very hard to imagine a grandmother who isn’t delighted by her grandchildren’s games and antics. Usually, we children always notice that change in our grandparents’ personalities (they’re more easygoing and permissive than they were when we were kids), and we often say that a grandchild’s biggest enabler will always be their grandpa or grandma. I think this is due to a sense of pride and happiness—seeing that their family is moving forward and that their roots continue to spread. Plus, they already know and understand that time is precious, and so they want to enjoy every moment of happiness the little ones can bring them... Well, that’s what I’ve always noticed in those grandfathers and grandmothers who let their happiness show when they’re with their grandchildren.

I think for grandparents the moment of having their grandchildren there is one of the revival moment to feel again that happy moments and maybe for this time they also feel young. My grandmother was really very happy having us there and she did everything, spoiled us of course, we were aware about that and never overused her trust and kindness. I hope that I also will experience the same when I am old too.

I know what you mean—ever since I was a little boy, I’ve always noticed the look of happiness on my grandmother’s face every time she sees me… The same look she gives each of her grandchildren—and even great-grandchildren—because we’ve all started our own families by now; in fact, this year she became a great-great-grandmother.

My mother always tells me that when she was growing up, my grandmother used to be stricter with her own children.
