I am delighted to participate in this week's Steemit Challenge. Today, I am going to share one of my favorite hobbies, which is very close to my heart. My hobby is rooftop gardening. It is not just a hobby for me. it is a wonderful way to spend quality time with nature and my family.

What is your favorite hobby?

My favorite hobby is gardening, especially growing vegetables and plants on my rooftop. I have created a small green space where I grow different types of vegetables, including bitter gourd, cucumber, ridge gourd, eggplant, green chilies, and several kinds of leafy vegetables such as water spinach and Malabar spinach. Seeing my plants grow and produce fresh vegetables gives me immense happiness.

How long have you been doing this hobby?

I have been interested in gardening for quite some time. Gradually, I started planting different vegetables on my rooftop. With time, my interest has grown, and now taking care of my rooftop garden has become a regular part of my life.

If it is a creative hobby, can you show some examples of your work?

Of course. I have shared some photographs of my rooftop garden, including a beautiful white flower, chili plants, and other growing plants. These pictures reflect my little gardening world. Every plant I grow gives me a sense of achievement and satisfaction.

Do any other members of your family share the same hobby?

Yes, my family members also enjoy spending time in our rooftop garden. Whenever we get some free time, we go upstairs together and take care of the plants. It has become a lovely family activity that brings us closer.

If you have children, have you introduced them to your hobby?

Yes, especially my son is very interested in gardening. Whenever I plant something new, he stays beside me and tries to plant things himself. He also helps me water the plants. I love seeing his enthusiasm because I believe gardening teaches children patience, responsibility, and love for nature.

What skills are needed for your hobby? How long did it take you to learn? Are you self-taught?

Gardening requires patience, regular care, observation, and basic knowledge about soil, watering, sunlight, and plant growth. I have learned most of these things through my own experience and practice. I am still learning new things every day by observing my plants.

Is the hobby expensive? How much does it cost?

I would say rooftop gardening does not necessarily require a lot of money. Seeds, soil, organic fertilizer, and a few gardening tools are the main things I need. I try to use available resources and manage everything within my budget.

What is preventing you from getting going?

My biggest challenge is time. Because of my office responsibilities, I cannot always spend as much time in the garden as I would like. However, I try to visit it every morning and again in the afternoon whenever my work schedule allows.

Finally, my rooftop garden is a little paradise for me. It gives me peace, happiness, and an opportunity to spend beautiful moments with my family. I hope to expand my garden with more varieties of plants in the future.
