THE DIARY GAME[30/10/2026] A DAY IN MY LIFE AS A HAIR STYLIST.

Good evening my fellow steemians,I hope we all had a great day today. My day started few minutes to 5am because that was when I woke up to fetch tap water in our compound right outside our door. I washed the jerrycan and went to fetch water,the landlady came minutes later to also fetch hers. After I was done fetching mine, I helped her fetch hers. I carried the jerrycan of water to our kitchen and dropped it in its original place.

When I was done,I started preparing food. My only work was to steam the soup,there was already made-eba in the pot that we did last night,it was still warm by the way. After steaming it,I dished food out for everyone to eat excluding me, didn't have much appetite by then. When they were done,they prepared and left the house leaving only me at home at the moment. Well I didn't have to stay at home because I had an appointment with that my friend who's also a hair stylist. She had told me earlier she wanted to braid her hair today. Well it's a normal thing,she braid mine and I braid hers,that's how it has been for almost three years that we've been working together. I had my bath and left the house to the salon.

On getting there,she wasn't there yet but her sister and the apprentice were there attending to someone else's. I waited for my friend to come so we would start the hair in time,she came minutes later. She brought her extension out and I arranged them as it should be. After I was done with her extensions,I started braiding her hair. We were all gisting,talking and laughing,both the apprentice, and my friend's sister. When it seemed like we had ran out of gists,we decided to watch movies in my phone. It didn't distract us from braiding my friend's hair though.

I had to braid the hair fast because we were expecting another client that was coming to braid her hair too that same afternoon. Although my friend had already gotten the client's extension as the client requested ,there wasn't much work to do on the extension. It was 100% ready for braiding. We just had to hasten up braiding my friend's own because I was also supposed to attend to the client. My friend wasn't going to be available after braiding her hair because she already told me that she was going to see her fiancé's uncle. So everything was left for me, the apprentice and my friend's sister.

I had not even finished braiding my friend's hair when the client came, my friend and I suggested that we join hands and braid the client's own,then when we were done,we would continue my friend own. We started braiding the client's hair, it didn't even take up to one hour thirty minutes,we were done. It was really really fast because we were two braiding the hair. After we were done,we applied hair products on the client's hair. We took pictures and videos of the hair because we normally post every work we do both in the salon and outside the salon. After she had settled us,she thanked us and left. I went back to continue my friend's hair.

I wasn't the only one braiding my friend's hair, the apprentice joined. Not that she braided the hair,but she was giving me extensions to add to the hair while braiding. My friend's sister didn't really do much, she wasn't feeling too well. Initially she was supposed to attend to the client but she was down, that's why my friend suggested both me and hair to braid the client's hair. I spent quite some time braiding my friend's hair because I was kind of tired but my friend understood because we just finished a client's hair and we didn't even rest for a whole before starting my friend's own. I didn't want to sit back because time was going and my house was quite far from the salon. Atlast we were done,I did the necessary things a stylist should do to a client's braid. We took pictures and videos of the hair so that she can post and I too can do same. When we were done,i packed my stuffs and left the salon to the house.

When I got home,they had already helped me prepare food but I didn't eat it,even though I didn't eat anything throughout the day. Well it happens sometimes and I don't even really eat that much, it was back then I eat alot especially when I was in school. After exchanging pleasantries with everyone at home, I went in took my bath and now I'm on the bed ready to sleep. Thank you everyone for reading.
