The Dairy Game:A Day In My Life As My Father's Site Supervisor [02/11/2026]

I woke up very early this morning. As usual, I started doing some of my daily routine. I was actually preparing to go to school when my dad called me. He told me to stay back at home today, that I would follow him to his building site to monitor some work and also to pay the people who will be offloading gravels. I accepted without hesitation.

After some time, my dad finished preparing and I also prepared alongside him. Then we both left the house together and headed to the building site. Though the building is almost completed, there is still some work to be done. When we got to the site, my dad did not stay too long. He handed over the keys and some money to me to pay the labourers after they finish working, and then he left.

Shortly after he left, the labourers started coming one by one. But there was a problem - there were no gravels on ground for them to start work. I had to call my dad to remind the stone dealer to supply the gravels quickly so that work could start. In a short while, the gravels were brought and work started instantly because majority of the workers were already present. I stayed there to monitor everything and made sure things went smoothly.

By the time it was afternoon, my dad came back to the building site to check how the work was going. He inspected everything and was satisfied with the progress. After that, he sent me to the welder's shop to check if the welder has completed the iron door he paid for some days ago.

Without wasting time, I quickly boarded a bike and headed straight to the shop. When I got there, I met the welder busy working on another job. I greeted him and told him why I came. He smiled and told me that he has already finished my dad's doors and they are ready for collection. I checked them myself and they were well done and very strong.

Since he was already done, I didn't need to stay long. I thanked him and left the place. I boarded another bike and went back to the building site to give my dad the good news. When I told him that the doors are ready, he was very happy and said we will go and carry them tomorrow.

After I delivered the message to my dad, I sat down calmly and continued monitoring the labourers. I made sure everyone was doing their work properly and there was no laziness.

That was what I did till evening. When they were done working, I paid everyone as my dad had instructed. I counted the money well and gave each person what was due to them. They were all happy and thanked me before leaving. After they left, I locked the gate of the building site properly and then we all went back to our various houses.

When I got home, I was so tired because I also assisted in some small work at the site. But luckily for me, my mum had already prepared a delicious meal. So I quickly took my bath to freshen up, ate my food, and went straight to bed.

That was how my day went. It was really a productive and stressful but fulfilling day.
