DEER

• Today’s challenge: This image depicts a deer that has just taken a drink from a puddle of rainwater; upon noticing a suspicious sound, it remains alert and cautious.

• I am currently using the drawing app Ibis Paint X, with the format set to 3:4 (1536 × 2048).

• For this project, I used 3 types of brushes that come with the application:

1. Dip Pen (pointed brush)
2. Foliage brush
3. Grass brush

• Next, we create a sketch of some trees, featuring several large tree trunks, using a dip pen brush.

• Next, apply a dark green color for the background and brown for the trees.

• Next, we use a foliage brush and select a green color to represent dense, lush leaves.

• Next, we use a grass brush and select dark green and yellowish-green tones to represent fresh grass, illuminated by sunlight filtering through the tree foliage, and adding a green color to represent a pool of water.

• Next, we create a sketch of the main subject: a majestic deer with beautiful antlers.

• Next, we apply a brown color, following the sketch of the deer that has been created.
• using a light cream color to create spots and light-reflection effects on the deer.

• Once the sketch and coloring of the deer are complete, we can now add some light filtering in through the gaps in the foliage.

• Next, we mirror the image of the deer to create a reflection in the pool of water.

• For the final step, we add some rocks along the edge of the pool of water, using shades of gray and black.
