Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 7 Question 2 : Ten Years From Now
I come to your questions and my answers right away-
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
If you ask me, “Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?” My answer is honest, forward‑looking, and tell you at 76 I have not much ambitions left to growth but I wish to contribution even without a fancy job title.
You need to think about my future plans because Interviewers ask this to understand three things, I have done this myself during my long corporate career. I would prefer my ambition, in a realistic way> I will like to see whether my path fits the role/company. At 76, it’s fine to frame 10 years standing on hard ground taking tough decision with solid purpose, impact, and legacy rather than climbing a ladder.
Ten years from now, I see myself doing what I am doing right now working as a trusted mentor and subject expert who has helped build strong teams and lasting processes among the budding marketing professionals..
I will keep doing the same in the next 10 years(God willing, if he doesn't decide to recall me meanwhile), I’d focus on mastering systems and lead key initiatives and coach younger colleagues and by year 10, I hope to have institutionalized best practices that keep improving outcomes even after I step back. The best part is my directors trust me for this job.
What job do you hope you will be doing? Where will you be living?
In 10 years, I hope to be doing work very similar to what I’m doing right now, because I have no intention to work in the field but let the marketing trainees tell finer points about electrodes, flux and why and how they react. I will do the same but with deeper expertise and greater impact. I plan to stay in the same field projects, training and continue living where I live now, because this is where I’m comfortable and where I can contribute most. After my second retirement my goal was to grow within this kind of role, take on more responsibility, mentor others, and leave behind better processes and results for my present company which is a world class welding electrode manufacturing company.
How will society in your country have changed by then?
I believe society in my country will keep evolving, becoming more connected and opportunity‑rich, but also more demanding. Technology will touch almost every part of daily life. Education, healthcare, banking I see growing awareness about the environment, mental health, and ethical business practices.
I expect communities to become more vocal about their rights and more involved in local decisions. Change will be constant, sometimes unsettling, but I’m hopeful it will push us toward better systems, fairer workplaces, and a culture that values both progress and our shared roots. Sure we shall have blacksheeps with shortcut tactics among the trainees but I know how to cope with them.
Will the world be very different in 2036?
Yes, I think the world in 2036 will feel different even if not much. Technology will be developed even deeper into daily life specially with added influence of AI, automation, and digital services. These will shape how we work, learn, and connect. We shall need more means of cleaner energy and new habits around travel and consumption.
Socially, I expect more openness, I expect a little more tension between tradition and rapid change even if I see nothing much scope in my field which is manual as well as mechanical . For me, the core values will remain the same, family, faith, honest work. I will remain my anchor, even as the tools and pace around me keep transforming.

Saludos apreciado amigo.
Bye

You missed a couple of points like i am already 76 and not 66. As far what I did, i did my engineering and two post graduate diplomas to enter marketing in corporate sector besides in HR. I have worked in different countries as project lead, but now limited my activities to train future marketing professionals.

Greetings, friend @dove11
A ten-year vision wouldn't change what you do now at all; since you love your work as a trusted mentor and subject matter expert, you would continue building strong teams and working with up and coming marketing professionals, focusing on mastering systems and nurturing your passion for training younger colleagues.
Your perspective on the next ten years is truly impressive specifically, the fact that you wouldn't alter your current approach.
I wish you the best of luck.
