Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 7- Question 1 : A Month on a Deserted Island: The Four Things Iād Take With Me
šļø A Month on a Deserted Island: The Four Things Iād Take With Me

When I first read the question for Week 7 of Steemit Challenge Season 34, I found the idea of āāimagining such a scenario quite intriguing. If I were truly to spend a month alone on a deserted island, what would I take along?
According to the prompt, I get to bring one book, one song, and one movie. Additionally, there is an opportunity to choose one luxury item.
After giving it a lot of thought, I have finalized my choices for such a situation.

š My Book ā āDebiā
For the book, I would choose āDebiā by the popular Bangladeshi author Humayun Ahmed.
A book would be one of my most important companions while spending a month alone on a deserted island. This is because a good book takes time to read, and even re-reading the same book can evoke new feelings each time.
The reason I chose āDebiā is its mysterious storyline. Sitting on a deserted island with no familiar faces around, reading a story like this would offer a unique experience.
Perhaps I would read it by the sea during the day, and on some quiet nights, I would sit and reflect on the story.
Having a book by a Bangladeshi author with me would also allow me to feel a connection to my homeland and the Bangla language. Being far away often intensifies the longing for the things that are familiar to us.
šµ My Song ā āOki Garial Bhaiā
As for the song, I would choose a Bangladeshi folk song titled āOki Garial Bhai.ā
Among Bangladeshi folk songs, this particular genre holds a special appeal for me. Village paths, the yearning to reach a loved one far away, the sense of waiting, and the feeling of separationāall these elements combine to evoke the very essence of the Bangladeshi soil. Sitting alone on a secluded island, surrounded only by the sea and nature, listening to this song might make me miss my homeland even more.
I find a beautiful connection between this type of folk song and the feeling of missing loved ones while being far away from them.
Perhaps Iāll listen to the song on my headphones while sitting by the sea at dusk. The silence all around and the vast ocean stretching out before meāthe thought of that moment feels truly beautiful.

š¬ My Movie ā Avengers: Endgame
For the movie, I would choose Marvel's Avengers: Endgame.
Iād pick this film primarily for its grand narrative, action sequences, and characters. The Avengers storyline involves so many characters and events that one might feel like watching it again even after the first viewing.
Spending a month on a secluded island means having plenty of free time. Watching a familiar movie during that period wouldn't feel tedious at all.
In fact, while revisiting different parts of the story, I might notice details that escaped me the first time around.
And honestly, the chance to sit alone amidst nature after sunset and watch a movie would be a truly enjoyable experience for me.

š“ My Luxury Item ā A Comfortable Hammock
If I had the chance to bring one luxury item, I would choose a comfortable hammock.
It might not be an essential item for survival, but one certainly needs a bit of comfort while spending a month on a deserted island.
I imagine a hammock strung up beneath a tree by the seasideālying there reading a book, listening to music for a while, and then watching a movie as evening falls.
That small touch of comfort would likely make the entire month-long experience even more delightful.
š That Imagined Month-Long Life
To be honest, I think I would really enjoy the first few days. Thereās no hustle and bustle, no work pressureājust nature and the sea. However, after a while, I will surely miss my family, friends, and acquaintances. That is when I might realize just how precious our ordinary, everyday lives truly are.
During that time, the book will keep me occupied, the folk song will remind me of Bangladesh, and Avengers: Endgame will transport me into the world of a different story for a while.
And if I have the chance to enjoy these things while sitting or lying in a hammock, that solitary time might become a little easier to bear.
Each of these four things holds a special meaning for me. The book will take me into a realm of thought, the song will remind me of my homeland, the movie will provide entertainment, and the hammock will offer some comfort.
So, if I were to go to a deserted island for a month, I would take along Humayun Ahmedās Debi, the Bangladeshi folk song "Oki Garial Bhai," Marvelās Avengers: Endgame, and a comfortable hammock.
Perhaps, at the end of the month, I would return having gotten to know myself much betterābecause, in our busy lives, we rarely get the chance to be truly alone with ourselves.
If you had to go to a deserted island for a month, which book, song, movie, and luxury item would you take with you?
Your choices make this deserted-island challenge feel much more personal than just a list of four things. I especially liked how you connected Debi with your Bangla language and homeland, because being far from familiar places can make those small connections even more meaningful. āOki Garial Bhaiā also seems like a perfect choice for a quiet evening beside the sea, especially with its themes of distance and longing, meanwhile I would really love to listen to that song my choice of song on my post happens to be "God Will Make a Way by Don Moen".
Opting for Avengers: Endgame provides a totally different kind of escape, bringing another world into your life when the island gets too much. And the hammock is indeed a great luxury choice; I am already envisioning spending time reading, listening to music, and enjoying the sunset while being in it. Your final thought about discovering yourself through solitude is also something I strongly connected with. This was a thoughtful and imaginative response to the challenge.

Your selections for this deserted island challenge were fun to read. Each selection seems to have a unique role book to keep yourself busy, song to remind you about your loved ones back at home, movie for entertainment, and the hammock just for comfort. The description of sitting beside the ocean with a book or while listening to music was easy to visualize. šļøššµ
I agree that we would miss our family, friends, and regular lifestyle once we spend a few days on this island alone. Sometimes distance from everything gives us an appreciation of what we usually take for granted. You have done great explaining the reason behind your selections. Nice post and all the best with your challenge. š

Thanks for your support sir @josepha I appreciate š
