The milk hormones(oestrogen and progesterone) start rising immediately in collaboration with producing oxytocin, the bonding hormone. The oxytocin helps your womb contract, reduces bleeding, and triggers breast milk. That's the more reason mothers feel relief once baby is placed on them.
Babies calms down faster than any other place, as they perceive your scent, warmth, and heartbeat. it is the safest environment a baby knows. That first hour after birth is so special. It's referred to as golden hour, which is a huge gift.
