sanc5: Share your thoughts about HONESTY
Hello my dear Steemians,
I think while we are growing we are realising how it is important to be honest when we are living and communicating with people who are around us.
When I think about this quality of character I always recall both my parents and my teachers in school. I remember how when we myself and my siblings were children we were told that we should be honest to ourselves when we were playing. As example I can say that when were playing ball then each of us tried to cheat and think out some reason to stay with ball longer. Understandably, the other one of us became upset and went to parents and complained. Our parents then had a chat with us, explaining that it is not fair if one of us playing on our own for longer time and we have to share it or even better to play together with the ball and in that case we would be both playing with ball and also with each other.
I also remember that if at home if we did anything wrong like broken some dishes and of course, we were scared, did not want to tell us to our parents. Then later on our parents again brought us together and explained that there is nothing scary if something is broken just need to admit it. Once we admit it then we all can make a decision what to do.
My parent did not feel tired from telling us that we should be honest no matter what happened, the worst thing is if we would be caught by cheating then nobody will trust us and also that later in our life it could get into habit. That is why we were encouraged to be honest to everyone, people who we know and also to people who we just learn or even strangers.
Since then even if it is difficult and if I am feeling uncomfortable I still prefer to be honest and frank. It is a good feeling and I feel that my soul is clear.
That is why we need to teach children from their childhood maybe to do it like in role playing manner to explain children what they should do and how with explanation that certain things better to avoid and always to speak openly with children, to take them seriously that will show htem respect and they will behave in the way we want.

A very thoughtful and meaningful reflection on honesty. 🌸 I especially liked how you connected the lessons from childhood with the values we carry into adulthood. The examples of sharing the ball and admitting when something was broken beautifully show how parents can teach honesty through everyday situations. I completely agree that children should be taught honesty with patience, respect, and clear explanations rather than fear. True honesty may sometimes be difficult, but it gives us peace of mind and builds trust with others. ❤️
