Hairy-footed Leafcutter Bee

in Beauty of Creativity • 9 days ago

The leaf-cutting bee is in the genus Megachile and ranges in size from about 6 to 15 mm. They belong to the family Megachilidae and are found in bushes or woodland. I captured this fantastic insect in a wet area that made them calm and allowed me to take a couple of shots with a smartphone and an external macro. I found this bee sucking nectar when I was strolling around the bush, and when I saw it right there, I tried to take some shots. I got a lot of pics of this bee, but only three of them are worth sharing here. While being on the shot, I never thought that they would sting me, and thank for being friendly with me. There are many types of bees around here, and I think this bee is friendlier than others. Indeed, I had to spend a lot of time hunting and waiting for them to calm down; that was an effort to gain better results.
