Work is there every day, but family moments are important.

It was a very busy day for me. Academic research is waiting for me. I had to leave the house, or else my children would divide my attention. I told my wife that I won't study at home, “Let me go to the office.” She replied, “no problem”. After preparation, she made breakfast ready, and I left home loaded.

About 10am I was already on my way, got to the office, and started my research until 5pm. When I was tired, I left the office. While I was about to go home, I remembered that there will be a Men Christian Association (MCA) fellowship at 73 Wellington Bassey Way Uyo. Although I was behind time, I made every effort to be there.

It was a fellow of hymns, prayers, and the Word from the Scripture to encourage men in every aspect of life and family building.

I noticed that the organist was not in the fellowship, and I stepped up to harmonize the music. I am a skillful organist by the grace of God. I played for the men, giving them the tunes and melodies of every Hymn number chosen. The fellowship ended at about 7 p.m., and I went back home.

When you leave home peacefully, you go back in peace to have a peaceful moment. Guess what? While I was in the office, my dear wife called and asked about the time I will be returning, “evening or so” “Okay dear” she replied. I got home to see the sumptuous delicacy that was not part of the day's menu in the kitchen. She made my favorite jollof rice and got some banana 🍌 for me to blend with the rice.

I took my time to devour the food with prejudice. Yes! I have been very hungry since the last time I had snacks for my lunch. Children were playing with me. We had a beautiful family time until tiredness forced sleep into my eyes. Even though my wife was asking me about my day, I managed to give her the gist. She asked many questions while still bringing up other conversations, telling me about the children and the stress they gave to her. “Dear do you know that Udo (our second son) was crying when I wanted to go to the market?” I was unable to participate in the gist fully again.

She saw that I was tired, and immediately she boiled water for me to take my bath. It was 9 pm already. She forced me to stand, I had my bath and called it a day.
