SteemVM v0.0.3 Testnet is LIVE: Repo Updated & Network Running!

The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) v0.0.3 testnet is officially live! Following our recent notice, we have successfully relaunched the chain from a fresh genesis with all the new architecture in place. The network is up, running, and producing blocks beautifully.
🟢 Testnet v0.0.3 is Live
As mentioned in my previous notice, the sheer scale of the v0.0.3 updates—introducing the STEEMBLACKHOLE module, the native SBD bridging, and the unified validator accountability system—required us to roll this out as a brand new chain for the testnet rather than attempting a messy state migration.
I'm thrilled to announce that the new v0.0.3 testnet is now fully operational!
- GitHub Repo Updated: The codebase has been completely updated with the new binaries, module restructuring (
x/oracle), and the new fee economics. - Network Health: The chain is producing blocks smoothly, and all the new feature gates (SBD bridging, price oracle commit-reveal) are active and ready for developer testing.
📊 Current Testnet Statistics
The new chain has been running seamlessly since genesis. Here is a quick look at the current health of the v0.0.3 testnet:
- Total Blocks Produced: 3,500+
- Test Transactions: 23 (Used for verifying the new bridge and oracle mechanics)
- Average Block Time: ~5 seconds
- Active Validators: 2 (Bootstrap nodes currently securing the network)
🛠️ Coming Soon: Easy Validator Setup Script
To make onboarding new validators to the new testnet as frictionless as possible, I am finalizing an easy setup script.
Setting up a node from scratch with cosmovisor, state-syncing, and configuring the new oracle daemons can be complex. This upcoming script will automate the heavy lifting—allowing you to spin up a v0.0.3 testnet validator with just a few commands. I will publish a dedicated guide and the script in the coming days!
