SVM Testnet Update: 345K+ Blocks Reached and Sherpa Protocol Deployment Today

Following up on my previous update regarding our 331,000 block milestone, I am thrilled to announce that the Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) testnet has reached a pivotal moment in its development.
The network is operating in a state of perfect health, and because of this sustained stability, we are officially proceeding with the deployment of the Sherpa Protocol smart contracts today.
Network Health and Current Metrics
The SVM testnet continues to demonstrate exceptional reliability. The v0.0.4.x security patches, optimized oracle clients, and streamlined validator update workflows are performing flawlessly under continuous operation.
Current Testnet Statistics:
- Total Blocks Produced: 345,811+
- Total Transactions: 12,717
- Average Block Time: ~5.3 seconds
- Active Validators: 11 / 12
The consistent 5.3-second block time and the stable participation of 11 out of 12 validators confirm that the network has fully absorbed the recent upgrade cycles and is operating at peak efficiency.
Major Milestone: Sherpa Protocol Deployment
In blockchain infrastructure, sustained, uneventful operation is the ultimate indicator of readiness. Over the past weeks, the network has successfully handled continuous oracle data ingestion, bridge attestations, and standard EVM transactions without a single consensus interruption.
We have also proven that our validator-run price oracles can accurately capture and report real-world market volatility without failing or lagging.
Because the core infrastructure is holding strong, today we are deploying the Sherpa Protocol smart contracts to the SVM testnet.
This deployment marks the transition of SVM from a foundational EVM layer into a fully functional decentralized finance (DeFi) environment. The Sherpa Protocol will introduce native trading, borrowing, and liquidity features directly to the Steem Virtual Machine ecosystem.
What to Expect Next:
- Deployment Monitoring: I will be closely monitoring the contract deployments and initial interactions to ensure zero errors or state anomalies.
- Contract Addresses: Once deployed and verified, I will publish the official smart contract addresses for the core Sherpa Protocol modules.
- Developer Testing: We will open the floor for developers and validators to begin interacting with the contracts, testing liquidity pools, and stress-testing the DeFi mechanics in a safe, risk-free environment.
