PhotoChain Challenge Edition 162 - Show A Photo With Stone And Hand In It

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE • 11 days ago

Hello everyone. I am writing this post to once again promote the PhotoChain Challenge, a Steemit Contest that is on its 162nd week and counting. If you have not heard of this yet, then please click on the link here to get to the contest post and learn about this very challenging and creative contest. This Challenge is hosted by @davidesimoncini. Do read up and try to join in the fun.

The last time I did a post to promote PhotoChain Challenge was more than a year ago in Edition 98. We are now in Edition 162!! That post was done under the Italian Community which sponsors the Contest. Why am I posting in this Community now? Well I think this Community appears to be a very active one so I hope this promotional post can reach a wider and more adventurous audience. And for another, @wakeupkitty is active in this Community and she is a big supporter of the PhotoChain Challenge. Her help can go a long way in promoting the Contest.

That being said, let us begin. What is the PhotoChain Challenge and what is it all about? Well this Challenge is a photography comment contest that is quite similar to the blockchain technology where every new Edition is linked to a previous one forming a chain which goes all the way back to the first Edition. Cool, isn't it? So this week is Edition 162. Each participant is required to show a photo (remember it's a photography contest) which shows two objects, called keywords, together in the photo. These two objects or keywords were determined from the last Edition (161). Let me explain.

Two winners are chosen every week. In order to win each participant must not only show the two keywords of the week in a single photo but also include his/her own personal keyword which is another object found in their photo. The reason for this is if the participant wins, his chosen personal keyword becomes one of the keywords in the next round.

To illustrate. This week is Round 162. The two keywords are Stone and Hand. These two keywords or objects are actually the personal keywords of @solperez (who chose Stone) and @evagavilan (who chose Hand) in Edition 161. You can check out their winning entries here.

Now, we look for photos with Stone and Hand together in the same photo. How about this one?

The photo above shows a bronze statue of a Spanish soldier standing beside a stone sentry post amid the stone ruins of Fort Santiago in Manila. He seems to be deep in thought while looking at his hand. And so I have a photo with Hand and Stone in it.

Now for my personal keyword which is something that can be found in my photo. It can be anything - soldier, helmet, light, lamppost, gate, steel, blue and sky. You can also choose coat, pants, belt, holster, nose, eyes - anything!! As long as it is in the picture. Say I choose Sky. If I win then Sky will be the next Keyword in the next Round or Edition plus the chosen Keyword of the other winner.

Let's show another one.

I took this photo when we visited the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, commonly known as the Manila Cathedral. It is the premier Roman Catholic church and the Episcopal See of the Archbishop of Manila. Catholic Cathedral. This is the inscription written outside the stoned facade of the church and somehow a lady's hand appeared out of nowhere as if showing the inscription as a tourist guide would do.

Personal Keyword? Could be hand, nail, fingers, white, blue, letters, and a circle (or half seen at top of the inscription.)

Or how about this?
1000032846.jpg
That's my grandson trying to catch some crawlers on the beach with both his hands ready for the pounce and several rocks at the background. Personal Keyword? Beach, sand, child, water, corals, sea, tree, slippers, gray, white, feet, roots and waves. And many more!

Here's another.
1000032847.jpg
Photo shows my grandson and my brother-in-law walking hand in hand through the stone ruins of Fort Santiago. See the big stone at the right? I sure wouldn't one falling on me. You can put in the comment section of this post what possible Personal Keyword can be used for this photo.

Another favorite of mine.

Taken 4 years ago when we buried our pet cat Pickles. My grandson, then 6 years old, found a flat heart-shaped stone and wrote the memorial for her on this stone-turned-memorial-marker.

Personal Keywords can be grass, fingers, marker, cheek, eye, eyelash, nose, green and black.

Have I succeeded in arousing your interest in joining the Challenge? I hope I did. I still have some other photos but I do not want to bore you any further. I will be joining this week's Edition soon but I have not decided yet what to enter. Feel free to visit the link provided at the start of this post and check the comment sections for my entry and the other regulars.

As a new contest participant @marblely would say it: "LET'S PHOTOCHAIN!"

Thanks for taking time to read this post. Until then, see you all soon.

(All photos are mine.)

I like the one with the statue, what does that Spanish soldier doing up their?

Also the one of your brother in law and the heart.

🍀❤️

The Spanish soldier is actually doing sentry duty in one of the numerous sentinel posts which surrounds the Fort. Here is another shot without macro.

I understand. Thanks for the reply and photo.

I hope the extra push helps, if so Davide will be super busy, perhaps he doesn't like that. 🤔

. . . so Davide will be super busy, perhaps he doesn't like that.

Hahaha I never thought of it that way 🤣 You do cover all the angles. That's why you're so out of the box. Refreshing, if I might say.

Thank you for your lovely comment and I am happy that somehow you have become interested with this Challenge. I look forward to your participation, hopefully on a regular basis.

Thank you also for inviting me to your contest. It really sounds like it is a lot of fun. However, at the moment I am preoccupied with PhotoChain and would like to devote the limited free time I have to it. But rest assured, once my schedule allows, I will surely join 🙂

You are an extraordinary promoter of this magical contest, which has allowed me to connect with wonderful people from all over the world. The photo of the soldier in front of the stone wall is striking.

Eres un extraordinario promotor de este mágico concurso, que me ha permitido compartir con maravillosas personas del mundo entero. La foto del soldado frente al muro de piedra es impresionante.

I knew you would like the statue. It's an antique with stone ruins around it. I was actually thinking of you and how this statue will look like standing by your antique door. Yes, PhotoChain has made it possible for me to meet so many beautiful and interesting people here in Steemit. I consider this a real blessing that I did not expect. You're one of them 🫠

¡Congratulations! This post has been voted through steemcurator08. We support quality posts, good comments anywhere and any tags.

Thank you so much steemcurator8 and @sohanurrahman for the support and encouragement. This is highly appreciated. 😊

Thanks a lot for your contribution, Gems. An awesome post, with simple and useful explanations :)
