One relationship lesson every woman should learn early is that love should never cost you your safety, dignity, or peace.

Babes please domestic violence is not only when a man hits you , it can also come in the form of emotional abuse and any type of violence is not to be accepted.

Please once you notice constant insults, manipulation, controlling who you talk to, threats, making you feel worthless, or using fear to control you, dust your slippers and run my dear because that man is definitely not for you.

Do not in any way convince yourself that you have to endure abuse because you love someone or because you believe they will eventually change because he will not change. Bad character is hard to change immediately or even after awhile especially domestic violence.

Remember that if it's truly love it should be patient, healing , happiness and not constant trauma. A healthy relationship should not make you on your toes at all times, anxious, scared, and afraid of your partner’s reaction.

Please don't be blind to the red flags because they always show early on and never blame yourself for some silly human beings behaviour because you were not created to be traumatized and used as a punching bag by another who only feels superior when he has landed a blow on a woman. You deserve a relationship where disagreements can happen without violence, where your boundaries are respected, and where you can be yourself without fear.

Just like I stated earlier, Love is supposed to be a place of safety and not a place you have to survive.
