RE: POLL: Which Post/Comment, of someone else, Deserves an Upvote? Why?
How does this poll work @wakeupkitty? I think I missed the voting.
I usually go for posts/comments that speaks from the heart, not sure how but when I read, I can feel what is written and I like it when the person takes pride in what they write - the content, the format, photos, creativity in writing, etc. And it is nice to see the effort some take to create, beautify their posts. And especially so when they take the time and effort to explain step by step. Not easy to do, especially with photos and such. I'm not saying it has to be fancy but I think we can see it. I don't like it when the posts look / 'read' rushed.
I like simple, straightforward titles - not long, complicated and confusing ones. I like catchy titles too. Some posts, I don't understand and therefore am not able to comment, even after I read two or three times.
Some posts (or comments), seems like they are "trying too hard" or taking advantage? Sometimes I am not able to "see" the true identity at first but realised it later. I realised there were many like this when I hosted and moderated the 2 communities back then, that I grew tired, confused and disappointed. I think that was why I left. Especially with the split, it became too political or toxic back then.
I will explore and share a sample post that I think deserves a good upvote later. I found one earlier... Be right back :)

I liked that @marcoteixeira explained his thought process with the structured sections from start till the end. Although it is just 1 photo (which is inline with his "Moment of Focus"), he took the time to share his thoughts and ended it with a technical Photo Notes that gave meaning to his photo. And it is not merely plopping a photo and a few sentence. And there is a unique sense of creativity in the way @marcoteixeira wrote which I enjoyed reading.

Yes yes, please share more. I do agree with @wakeupkitty that adding more photos will enhance your post even more though I respect that maybe your single photo is to keep inline with your title or theme?

You can only see the poll and click ✅ on some of the answers if you log in to SteemX. Most people can’t do that, and many aren’t willing to sign up for everything.
I was asked to try out the poll, but I think I’m now the only one using it. No problem – there are plenty of questions to ask, and it’s a way to keep in touch, share experiences or just have a chat.
It’s a bit like Monkey Business, which I used to run – asking questions about Steemit.
Until about 1 to 1.5 years ago, the atmosphere there was still toxic, and I tried hard to bring about changes – for example, regarding the issues with moderators, club status and more.
What has helped enormously, by the way, is that I’ve stayed within my own bubble (community). I’m mainly here to write, make connections and not to argue. That doesn’t mean I condone corruption, scams or spam, but I’ve given up on trying to change the world on my own if I always have to fight and others end up taking the credit, whilst I get stabbed in the back and they stand on the sidelines watching.
I love my peace and quiet, and I love writing, painting and things like that. It’s not as if I’m bored stiff and find it a pleasure or a massive thrill to fight a battle I know I’ll lose from the start. I’ve also been away for a while. There’s life outside Steemit, and that’s a good thing. I’d really feel sorry for myself if this were the only thing in my life.
The point is that Steemit gives me energy rather than draining me and causing stress. If that were the case, I’d stop. I understand exactly what you mean.
