Your excellent work during your one-week stint as municipal mayor led to important initiatives, such as road repairs and crucially food price controls to address instances where merchants fail to comply with official pricing regulations, a practice that causes real problems for consumers.

I am particularly struck by these first two measures of your one-week term, as these situations are also seen in my country, Venezuela; there, such issues spark significant social discontent, and citizens demand that their leaders improve public services and enforce the regulations governing the relationship between merchants and consumers.

May God grant you the privilege of serving not just as mayor for a week, but for a full term of two or three years.
