SLC-S33/W6 | Our Surroundings: Let´s Talk About The News - How has traffic been in your region
Hello dear friends,
How are you all? I hope you are well. I am also fine by the grace of Allah. Today, I have come to participate in the sixth week of the Steemit Challenge SLC-S33/W6, organized by the Honorable organizer @adeljose & @kibreay001 sir. They brought a wonderful challenge, whose name is "SLC-S33/W6 | Our Surroundings: Let´s Talk About The News - How has traffic been in your region"|| I feel proud to participate in this challenge.
The busiest city is the capital, Dhaka. The capital, Dhaka, is the center of various activities, including administrative, business, and job centers. Therefore, millions of people travel on every road every day. Jurain in the capital Dhaka is one such busy area. Hundreds of vehicles move here every day. Today I will visit Jurain Bus Station and answer the questions of the esteemed organizer.
How would you describe the general traffic flow in your region during peak hours? Are there significant differences in traffic between weekdays and weekends? |
|---|
Jurain area is an industrial area. Hundreds of industrial enterprises are located in this area. Apart from this, there are many business establishments, schools, colleges, and supermarkets. Millions of people work in these establishments. They all have to use this road. In addition, it is the main road serving as the entrance to the capital, Dhaka, from the southern part of the country. Overall, Jurain Bus Stand is a busy road. The traffic jams that occur especially in the morning and evening are very unbearable.
Although it is a huge and wide road, the road is covered with various types of transport. Here, only cars are visible. Also, due to the random movement of vehicles at different speeds, the speed of vehicles does not increase. Chaos can be observed everywhere due to the use of slow-moving rickshaws, autos, buses, and private cars in the same lane.
Just as unbearable traffic jams are observed on weekdays, the opposite is seen on weekends. On those days, people usually do not come out of their homes because offices, courts, schools, and colleges are closed. Only a small crowd is observed in front of supermarkets. Apart from that, the roads are comfortable.

What are the conditions of the main roads in terms of maintenance and signage? |
|---|
There are traffic police to maintain the road that I visited in Jurain today. They work continuously from morning to night. There is no negligence in their work, but due to the lack of lanes for traffic, everyone wants to use all the lanes. Low-speed vehicles enter the high-speed lanes. Then traffic jams are created. So many vehicles are moving on the road that the traffic police can't control it. As a result, traffic jams are created on the road or slow traffic is created on the road.
The traffic signal on the road visited has been in a useless state for some time. As a result, the traffic police control the traffic manually. But they are not able to succeed in that work; as a result, the road is crowded, and the cars also violate the rules and regulations, which are blocking the road by driving in any way they can.

What is the current state of traffic signs and traffic lights in your area? |
|---|
The current condition of traffic signs and traffic lights in our country is much better than before. In particular, the work of digitizing traffic signals is underway. The work of digitizing the traffic signals of Jurain Bus Stand, which I visited today, has also started. Due to this, the traffic signals of the previous analog system have been removed.
Currently, due to renovation activities, there are no traffic signals on the road. The traffic police are trying to control the road manually.

What types of vehicles are most prevalent on the main roads in your region? |
|---|
In my area, various types of vehicles are seen moving on the main roads. Since this place is used as an entrance to Dhaka city, it is normal for long-distance vehicles to move on this road. Therefore, a separate flyover has been created for them. They move on that road at a fast speed. And buses, minibuses, private cars, autorickshaws, and rickshaw pushers all move below.
However, the most common is the autorickshaw or rickshaw. Once upon a time, Dhaka was called the city of rickshaws. Day by day, the number of people moving towards the city is increasing. They have moved towards the city for their livelihood. Along with this, the number of rickshaws in the city is increasing in tandem. So whenever you go out on the road, everyone's first attention is on the rickshaw.

How would you describe the driving culture in your region? Are drivers responsible behind the wheel? |
|---|
The drivers in our area are very skilled. Because they are experienced in their work, no accidents occur despite so much traffic congestion. They get training and certificates before driving their vehicles, then they drive under an experienced driver for a few days and then drive on their own. As a result, people moving on the road are safe, and vehicles are safe.
