The Diary Game: 31/10/2026 - My Comprehensive Day
My phone woke me up at 5:00 AM, from a blissful sleep I was enjoying so dearl. I was surprised when I saw that it was my Mom calling. I mean, we're in the same house. What was so urgent that could not wait till morning?.
Anyways, today was environmental sanitation day, and she explained she wanted to get to the market and back before the streets were closed. I didn't have a say but to get up to help her get ready.
I packed her bags and went through her list twice to make sure nothing was missing, and she left while the sky was just starting to brighten.
After she went out, I tried as much as possible to get myself back to sleep. But all efforts were proven abortive as I was just rolling over my bed from left to right. At a point I realised I could not sleep again, so I started my day.
I began with doing the laundry. I had a few dirty clothes from the week, so I made sure to gather all of them and wash them. After that, I swept and cleaned the whole house. By 7:30 AM, everything was neat and set to my satisfaction.
Then I went outside for the sanitation. I took my cutlass and a rake and went after the overgrown grass around our house. I cut it, bundled it, and raked the place so clean.
Some people passing by stopped to watch, commending me alongside that the place had never looked this good. Those words of theirs were so pleasing to my ears that they kept me going until I finished.
I was very tired when I finished everything. To regain a bit of my strength, I took a shower, lay down on my bed, and fell asleep almost at once.
Hours later, my phone rang and woke me up again. This time around it was from the delivery company. The order I had been waiting on for weeks had finally arrived at the pickup station. I could not stand the wait to see it, so I got up, found my shoes, and went to get it.
When I came back from the pickup station, I was already exhausted to even try on the shoes I got. At the same time, Mom also asked me to help her in the kitchen, and I cannot say no to Mom's call for help, anytime, anywhere. So I went ahead to help her.
Originally, we were supposed to cook very early in the morning, since she got back from the market in the morning. But because of the environmental sanitation, we had to move the cooking to later in the day.
My job was to cut, wash, and slice some of the vegetables she bought.
It was easy for me, because I have been doing it for a long time. I finished all of it and put everything in place.
By 5:00 PM, we were done cooking, and I had my dinner. Believe me, the food was really delicious.
After eating, I went to my barber's salon to cut my hair against church service on Sunday. When I got back, I watched a movie and then rested.
That was how I spent my day. It was a hectic one, but I am glad about everything I was able to get done.
