Drawing tutorial: My new colorful portrait drawing

Today I am sharing with you a new artwork of mine. This time I have tried to create a portrait of a beautiful girl, featuring long dark hair, soft expression and simple dress.

I used pencils, colors and various shading techniques to complete this drawing. Let's see how this picture was completed by going through different stages.

Drawing steps

Step 1: Initial sketch

First I sketched the basic structure of the girl's head, face, hair, neck and body. At this stage I focused on getting the proportions and poses right.

Step 2: Detail the face

In this step I made the eyes, nose and lips. Each line is carefully crafted to keep facial expressions beautiful and balanced.

Step 3: Forming the Dress

Now I explained the boundaries of the garment and its different parts. Also improved a few hair lines and facial textures to make the drawing look more complete.

Step 4: Shading the hair

At this stage I started to fill the hair with dark black color. Highlight the natural texture and volume of the hair by creating lines in different directions.

Step 5: Finishing the face and dress

Now I added more details of the face and clothing. Improved hair shading and added depth with lighter colors on different parts of the body.

Step 6: Final Colors and Details

Finally I filled in the face, highlighted the eyes and lips and added a hint of orange to the background. These last details make the portrait complete and attractive.

My inspiration

I love creating different facial expressions and hair textures. Through this portrait, I tried to improve my creativity. For me, every new drawing is a new opportunity to learn and refine my style.

My experience

The most interesting part of this artwork was the shading of the hair and the use of colors on the face. The combination of dark hair and soft colors gave the image a beautiful balance. With each step my drawings became clearer and in the end I was very happy with my work.
