WARM GREETINGS TO ALL WONDERFUL STEEMIANS

Greetings to all members of thi prestigious community and to you who is taking time to read my post. You are welcome to my blog. Today, I want to participate in one of the amazing weekly contest called Recipe of the Day. This week I want to share with you,one of my favourite meal of the week.

Plantain is a typical plant that is almost 85% Nigerian like to plant even in their compounds. Plantain often look like banana but the product looks larger and thinner than banana.

When it comes to food preparation,we have different ways of preparing both the ripe and the unripe plantain. It can be fried, baked, roasted and combine with other food like beans and rice.

Today, we are Cooking porridge plantain .lt comes with few ingredients which includes :

  • Crayfish
  • Periwinkle
  • Palm oil
  • Fish
  • Onions
  • Vegetables
  • Cowskin
  • Fresh peppers
  • Seasoning cubes

Before the meal Preparation.


The first thing I did was to carried out the preparation of every thing. I Washed the plantains and then peeled. After which, I chop them into smaller sizes and then turn into a pot.

I carefully deboned the fish, pieces it and kept aside. I cut the periwinkles and wash it thoroughly .I sliced onion, pound crayfish, pepper and cut vegetables.

I turned the plantain into a clean pot. I put measurable quantity of water ..a bit floating above the plantain in the pot.

I put my pot on fire and then turn in all the necessary ingredients like pepper, crayfish, fish, onion, seasoning cubes ... for a good taste ... and a little quantity of salt into the pot

The Last thing, I put was palm oil locally known as red oil. Which gives an apertizing colour in a meal.

After this, I cover the pot an allow it Cooked on a low medium heat for about fifteen minutes.


The next step was tasting to see if the plantain is soft then I turned in my sliced vegetables and scent leaf. I finally garnish it with sliced onions and small quantity of red oil.

Now, my yummy plantain porridge is done. That is all we have for the preparation.l carefully put down the pot and take off my portion

You will see and agree with me that it is really yummy and palatable. Even the appearance is waaaw!

I like cooking unripe porridge plantain because it comes with alot of health benefits. It helps in supporting body growth and development. It is one of which helps in body building and for the improvement body immune system.

It is one of the options for some persons with various chronic I'll health. Plantains also contains resistant starch that has been shown to have benefits for gut health.

Plantain can be consumed by all ages and can be served at any time, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. I enjoyed consuming nutritious meals... one like plantain porridge.
