The Diary Game [5/11/2026]: A Comprehensive Day With Good Moments

Most times, we can't judge how our day will turn out from the way it begins. How we feel in the morning doesn't really guarantee how the rest of the day will go. And my own day today proved that.

I woke up at a time I didn't want to wake up, because my dad called me, and he disturbed the comfy sleep I was having. He needed his clothes ready for work, and I was the only one around to do it. My street's light is faulty, I think from the transformer or thereabout, so I could not iron them myself. I had to trek out to the nearest laundryman so he could iron the two clothes in time.

I dropped them off with the laundry man, came back home, did a little push-up, showered, and ate my breakfast. Then later I went back to the laundryman's shop. He had finished one shirt and one trouser before I got there, so I took those ones to my dad. He wore them and left for work, and my own work was at the corner.

‎I'm a teacher, for that reason I had to get myself ready for school. Normally I trek to the school with my elder brother and friends, but I was a bit late today, so they left without me and I had to walk that long distance alone. It wasn't funny at all, and finally when I reached school I was already pissed for the stress from that early morning.

‎With disregard to my frustrations, my students were so eager to see me. The smiles on their faces as they welcomed me were so friendly that the stress and the anger just melted away.

‎I asked how they were feeling, we exchanged our usual greetings, and I started teaching.

‎I had planned to keep it today's class short. Just write a few notes, explain a few things, and go. But it turned out the opposite without me realising earlier.

Jss2 students

I teach JSS1 and JSS2, and they had so many questions to ask. Every time I explained one thing, another question came from a different angle, and of course I had to answer them all.

The teaching went on smoothly

I ended up writing a lot of notes and explaining a lot. Four hours later, I trekked home with my brother.

Myself and my brother

On our way, I noticed the government workers laying what looks like a communication cable down our road.

They dug holes, pass pipes underneath, and the cables go inside the pipes. I was amazed by the work, and I kept thinking about how heavy that workload must be for them. I took pictures from different angles before heading home.

When I got home, I showered and saw a movie just to cool off a bit. After the movie, I was just about to sleep when my tenant called. She needed someone to help her buy chicken, and her sister wasn't around. So I got dressed again and went out in search of chicken.

I could not find it in the market, but someone directed me to a spot on my street where a woman sells chicken. I strolled back down there, bought it and took it back to my tenant.

The shop where I finally got the chicken

She was so happy that I had gone through all that stress for her. I told her it was nothing, and that I can help anytime.

As of that time sleep had left my eyes completely. But then again, I recalled how I'd seen a jersey shop while looking for the chicken. I hadn't had money on me then, so I went home, picked up some cash, and called one of my guys about the jersey I found interesting.

He found it interesting and we decided to go check it out together. We went, I bought one jersey, he bought one too, and we headed home.

After all the trekking, I was exhausted because I hadn't eaten since I returned from school. I asked my friend if he had cooked anything, and he replied he didn't. I hadn't either. We called our other friends to see if any of them had food, and none of them had cooked.

‎I had no other option but to wait until my mom came back and made something for me. I had my dinner around 7 pm, and then I finally rested.

To everything that happened, what I find most amazing about today is that I started it in a bad mood. I woke up thinking the whole day would be boring. But sequentially, the day turned out more fun than I expected.

So maybe we shouldn't judge our days by how they begin. As the day unfolds, we might find something interesting and worthwhile. ‎I enjoyed my day, and I hope you all enjoyed yours too.
