in Steem For Lifestyle • 12 hours ago (edited)

Assalamu Alaikum, everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Today, I am going to answer an important question posted on this platform. I will be addressing the 4th question from a post by my dear brother @solaymann. I have provided the link to his post below, and that is where I have begun answering these questions. Link to the question. I hope you all enjoy reading my post. So, let's get started.

what is your favorite dress?

To me, clothing is not merely a means to cover the body; it is a way to express one’s personality and taste. Everyone has certain favorite garments that, when worn, instill a unique sense of self-confidence. I, too, have a few favorites—among them, a black shirt paired with a white dhoti. This represents a contemporary Bengali style. I truly enjoy wearing these two pieces together; the combination of the black shirt and white dhoti creates an elegant and sophisticated look.

I particularly enjoy wearing this outfit for special occasions, while traveling, or when heading out during my leisure time. I wore this ensemble just a few days ago during a trip to Tangail—a choice I made based on someone’s suggestion. In my view, the beauty of an outfit does not depend on its price; rather, what matters most is how comfortable it is and how well it aligns with one’s personal style.

The costs for the items I wore are detailed below

The local price for each item has been calculated against the current market value of STEEM. Among these, the black shirt is the most expensive item; it cost BDT 1,000, which is equivalent to approximately 161.15 STEEM.

The white dhoti was purchased for BDT 500. It is as comfortable to wear as it is aesthetically pleasing, though it is not something I wear very often. Both my footwear and wristwatch also cost BDT 500 each, while the sunglasses were purchased for BDT 200. In total, the local cost of this outfit and the accompanying accessories is 2,700 BDT, which is equivalent to approximately 435.12 STEEM.

What is your favorite piece of clothing that you haven't been able to buy recently? Why?

For a long time, I have wanted to buy a high-quality panjabi (traditional tunic) along with a koti (waistcoat). Specifically, I am looking for a panjabi in a deep, rich color—one with an elegant design and comfortable fabric—paired with a maroon koti that would complement it perfectly.

However, due to various personal needs and other expenses, I haven’t been able to purchase it yet. Insha'Allah, I plan to buy this outfit in the near future and will share it with you all. I believe there is no need to rush when it comes to buying clothes; it is best to purchase what you need according to your own financial capacity. So, when the right time and opportunity arise, I fully intend to buy the panjabi I’ve set my heart on.

To conclude, the beauty of an outfit is not defined by its price. Even an inexpensive garment can beautifully highlight a person’s personality. I am particularly fond of this combination—a black shirt paired with a white dhuti—because it makes me feel comfortable and creates a meaningful connection to my own culture. It is, in essence, a reflection of our Bengali heritage.

Excellent style. Lungi Punjabi is the traditional dress of Bangladesh. The clothes you are wearing and your expression look great. The photos were also very nice. There is something to learn from looking at the photo style. This is wonderful to see, thank you for the detailed discussion about one of the traditional costumes of Bangladesh. Best of luck.

Like your black shirt and white wash dress. Especially if you like to wear it on special occasions and during travel. You said that you are planning to buy Punjabi and Maroon Koti now, but could not because of some expenses. Hope you will buy this dress of your choice soon.
