Escape.
Escape.
Some chase, others flee—that's how movies and literature portray what we call escape.
But often, escape isn't a chase; it's the moment when a person decides they don't belong here and need a change of scenery.
All kinds of travel are commonly called voyages, but in reality, they're escapes from circumstances.
Even the discovery of America was the escape of a Jew, as has become known relatively recently, who took the name Christopher Columbus from the long arm of the Inquisition, which oppressed Jews.
Other travelers fled debts or other unpleasant situations in their home country—not always, but often enough.
In recent years, it has become fashionable to flee the city for the countryside, supposedly because it's easier to support your family in the countryside than in the city through farming and livestock raising. Personally, I fully share the opinion of those who have done this.
But this isn't a panacea; many of those who have fled in this way have returned to the city. Not only do you need the strength to handle the difficult rural labor, but you also need the skills of a trader who can sell your produce to anyone, and not everyone has this skill.
So I'm sitting here wondering when I'll finally have the chance to make such an escape and whether I even need it. LOL.
