Russia has warned NATO that any attempt to cut off or isolate its Kaliningrad exclave could have serious consequences, including a possible nuclear response.

Kaliningrad is strategically important because it is separated from mainland Russia and surrounded by NATO territory. This makes the region a sensitive point in tensions between Russia and NATO.

The warning highlights how quickly geopolitical tensions in Europe can become dangerous. Any escalation involving nuclear weapons would have consequences far beyond the region.
