A child's workbook

I unfolded the sides of the box with much anticipation and looked forward to its content. But, to my surprise, I saw two crumpled papers inside. Crumpled papers are usually used in packages primarily to fill empty space and protect items from shifting or breaking during transit. But to see two pieces of it in this package was just a little odd. The other items were professionally wrapped in bubble wraps, just those 2 pieces of crumpled paper in between.

I carefully unraveled the papers, wondering what they were. The curious cat in me couldn't help it and mind you, I have not even opened my stuffs. I was more interested with the papers.

When the content started to show in its wrinkled state, I couldn't help but smile.

They were pages from a child's workbook, possibly went missing or intentionally made missing. I smoothed the papers out a little. Oh, there were steps to make a bookmark too.

And hey, the child had correct for all the questions, well done!

The handwriting reminded me of school, many, many, many moons ago. Whenever the teacher was busy, we would be given an assignment to color the pictures in the workbook. A very therapeutic exercise, that sometimes I wished we had more coloring time than actual classes. Wishful thinking.

Seeing these wrinkled papers made me wonder about the seller and the child. I wondered why would one crumple the work of their child into somebody else's package. Wouldn't they want to keep as memory of their child's growth? Or perhaps not. Either way, I hope the child is doing well in school.
