We went out for lunch
It was a great sunny day although it rained later. It was an outing for food to our favorite restaurant is always a small celebration of taste, company, and comfort. We chose a cozy spot known for its tasty and familiar aromas, great sizzling in butter, spices toasting in oil, and the soft clatter of plates.
The menu is always a treat to watch. I saw an old friend with his wife approaching the same table we were heading to but she did not look at us until we greeted her.
We ordered vegetarian silky soup to start with and tandoori roti and vegetables that tasted fresh from the garden. We ordered slowly,
The restaurant’s lighting was gentle, casting a golden glow over the table, while soft music played in the background, just loud enough to fill silence but not conversation.
Our server remembered our preferences, bringing extra lime and a small bowl of pickles without being asked. As we finished with food, watching other families laugh and eat. It wasn’t just a meal, it was a moment of connection, after a pause of two week’s rush on this road, and a reminder that joy often lives in simple celebrations.
