10 Most Beautiful Islands in Asia
Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam, located in Kien Giang province. This enchanting island has earned the title of the most beautiful island in Asia for two consecutive years. The award is presented by the US-based travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler. Phu Quoc successfully outperformed Phuket (Thailand) and Bali (Indonesia).
According to VN Express, in the annual Readers' Choice Awards 2026, Phu Quoc secured first place with a score of 95.26 points. Boracay (Philippines) took second place, followed by another Philippine island, Palawan, in third. Meanwhile, Bali (Indonesia) which had previously dominated the top spot dropped to sixth place.
Langkawi (Malaysia) and Koh Samui (Thailand) took fourth and fifth place, respectively. They were followed by Phuket (Thailand) in seventh place and the Phi Phi Islands (also in Thailand). The Andaman Islands (India) ranked ninth, while Koh Pha Ngan (Thailand) rounded out the list in the final spot. Phu Quoc's success in securing this prestigious title aligns with a surge in international tourist arrivals, contrasting with the downward trends seen in the tourism industries of various other global destinations.
Data from the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism shows that Phu Quoc recorded 1.92 million foreign tourist arrivals during the first nine months of the year. This rapid increase in visitors was driven by flexible visa policies, the expansion of direct international flight routes from key markets, and aggressive tourism promotion campaigns. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards represent one of the oldest and most prestigious benchmarks in the global travel industry.
