The value of pausing to celebrate what has been achieved / I'm Glad I didn't Quit.

I love the topic we are considering for the week, it's actually helps us take a moment to reflect on how far we have come and how much we have been able to achieve, moments like this help to communicate gratitude, for me, it helps me communicate gratitude to God who made it possible.
Oh yes! God gets the glory for how far I've come and how much I have achieved. Am I saying there are no input of men in the hourney so far? Nah! Not at all, men have helped shape the result I see and celebrate today but these same men are the very people that God himself positioned in my life to help me
It is possible for someone to be on the move and not take a moment to sit and check the journey so far. I know you might want to argue this but an attitude like this is clearly ingratitude. You think you made everything work but that's not entirely true. If you look closely, you will see other factors that made you achieve what you achieved.
That ingratitude I mentioned also extend to yourself. Have you taken time to thank yourself for not quitting when you have every reason to, have you taken time to treat yourself to a good meal or a nice hangout for staying on the course? You will never know that you deserve this until a moment of reflection.

Celebrate every win friends, your win might not be very spectacular but trust me, you're not with the same result you used to have , you have moved, you have progressed, your status has changed in a way. So why not celebrate the little win. Sometime we get carried away chasing shadows and we overlook that which we already have.
I still celebrate a win I had years back while serving as a corps member in a community up North, very far from home in my country Nigeria. I had every reason to quit on an assignment that took me to that community where I served with other corp members. I was to start up a fellowship among my fellow serving corp members but it was proving difficult.
Days went by, month went by, I held on to the vision, stayed on the course, praying and hoping things will change, and that these people will have a change of heart and that they will have an encounter with God and this is actually my desire which is far more important than just starting up a fellowship.

It took a few months till this was achieved. A fellowship started, some got saved and became a very grounded member and we continued till we passed out. Today the fellowship still thrives, what seems like a completely dead on arrival vision came alive and continued to thrive.
So each time I reflect I thank God for making it possible and some very good brethren who agreed with me in prayer to see the birthing of this brand new era in that small community up north. I'm glad I didn't quit in spite of the discouragement and frustration.
I will love to drop my pen at this point, Thank you all for staying with me till the end. Gracias!

Reading your writing I felt a beautiful feeling in my heart. That we should really stop sometime in our life journey. And see where we started from. And where we have reached today. Often we get so busy thinking about the next destination that we forget to appreciate our small achievements. I especially liked the incident in your life in which you did not give up despite all the difficulties. And disappointments and continued to strive for your goal. An effort that is proving beneficial not only for you. But also for others today is certainly a great thing. Sometimes we do not get the fruits of our hard work immediately. But this does not mean that our efforts are going in vain. I also liked your point that we should also thank ourselves. Because keeping ourselves in check and not giving up in difficult times is no less than a success. May Allah Almighty grant you more ease happiness and success in your life.
