Lets Talk About Toothpick Today
Stop using toothpick after eating
Yes, that’s what I said
If you are the type of person that finishes eating and the next thing you reach for is a toothpick to remove the ewedu and chicken pepper soup you are at your madams house
Then you need to be careful with how you use that toothpick because you can be harming your gums and teeth 🦷 without knowing
Toothpicks constantly poke around your gums thereby injuring the gum tissue, cause bleeding and irritation, and over time, contribute to gum recession… in fact you can also accidentally damage the tissues around your teeth.
And I know some of you will say, “But how else am I supposed to remove the food?” 😏😏
That is why you should get dental floss🤷♂️
Dental floss is made specifically to clean between your teeth and remove food particles and plaque from areas your toothbrush cannot reach…..
Instead of repeatedly digging between your teeth with a sharp piece of wood, or picks
gently floss between them
Dental floss is thin, flexible and it’s is even safer and cleans the spaces between your teeth where your toothbrush or toothpick cannot reach
So don’t make toothpicks your permanent post-meal companion🤷♂️
If you regularly get food stuck between the same teeth, especially if those areas bleed or hurt, don’t just keep picking at them. Get them checked by a dentist
And please because I said you should use dental floss does not mean you should put it in your mouth and walk around with it oo 😏😏😏
