GOD REGARDS THE LOWLY

EDIFICATION DAILY DEVOTIONAL | TUESDAY 20 OCTOBER 2026

“Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.” — Psalm 138:6 (NKJV)
READ: Psalm 138:1–8
The Psalmist in this passage shows us an important attribute of God. He said, though God is on high, in heaven, yet, He has regards for the lowly — the humble or the meek. However, the proud He keeps distance from, that is, knows from afar.
Another translation says: “Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.” (Psalm 138:6 NLT)
One of the sins that is most detestable to God is pride. God keeps away from the proud! What will make God regard you is humility — when you declass yourself and remain small in your own eyes.
