MAKING GOD TO GO FAR FROM YOU—HIS TEMPLE

“Furthermore, He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of israel commits here, to make me go far away from my sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.” Ezekiel 8:6 (NKJV)

God would always warn before He does whatever He wanted to do. The people of Israel were provoking God with their idolatrous living, and He was warning them. He was showing to Prophet Ezekiel the abominable things which the people of Israel were doing to provoke Him to anger and drive Him away from His sanctuary—Temple.

When a believer who supposed to be God's temple (1 Corinthians 3:16,17; 6:19,20) begins to get himself or herself involved in sins; whatever form of Sin, such is indirectly driving God and His angels, who are meant to protect him or her, away from the self.

The Holy Spirit is made silent in a believer's life when such begins to dip their hands in sins. The life you live that is not in line with God's Word or principles, is repulsive to the Holy Spirit and the angels assigned to watch over you and minister for you: "Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14).

If a believer or minister is doing or living contrary to God's Will or principles; God would be warning the person ahead of His discipline or chastisement or Judgement; It is only left for the believer or minister to heed the warnings being sent by God.

The Israelites did not heed the warnings sent by God to them, through different prophets of His, for several years (Jeremiah 7:25,26); thus, they ended up in the captivity, and their land was made desolate for seventy years (Jeremiah 25:11).

For you not to repeat their mistakes (1 Corinthians 10:5-11), and ended the way they did, you would do well to heed God's warnings or admonitions through God's written Word, the Bible, and the messages sent through His servants.
