I do not view growth merely as getting bigger to me growth means breaking down. learning and then emerging better than before. I look at the concept of growth from three perspectives
How do you view the word 'growth'? Exemplify! |
|---|
1: Growth like a tree
A tree does not grow overnight. First the seed is buried in the earth enduring darkness and braving the elements—water and sunlight. Only then does the trunk emerge leaves sprout and fruit appear.
👉:Example
A farmer's son. Initially he simply plowed the fields. Later he underwent agricultural extension training and learned new techniques via YouTube. Today that same young man generates a yield from his two acres that rivals that of ten acres. This is growth—when the roots are strong. the branches spread naturally.
2: Human growth
Growth is not defined solely by money or status Sometimes. expanding one’s heart increasing one’s patience.and forgiving others also constitute growth.
👉:Example
When my father went abroad for work. the early days were incredibly difficult; there were times I would weep. But over time I learned to appreciate things; I learned patience and responsibility. Physically .I remained the same but internally I grew immensely. This was inner growth.
Growth in Relationships
A relationship is like a seed If it isn't nourished with time.conversation. and respect.it withers away. For instance. I used to fight with my cousins during childhood. Now as adults.a two-hour chat when we meet lifts the weight off our hearts. We learned to respect one another the relationship grew.
Growth A One-Line Summary
Growth isn't about racing. it’s about taking root. The deeper the roots the higher the growth. And most importantly discomfort is essential for growth. A seed must break through the soil to become a plant.
From your perspective, how many kinds of growth are there? Share your viewpoint! |

From my perspective "progress" is not merely about money or grand buildings; it means improving in every aspect—both internally and externally.
I describe three types of progress:
1:Mental Growth
This is the primary and most essential form of progress. What is it? Learning new things drawing lessons from mistakes.and broadening one’s mindset.
:Example
A farmer who had been cultivating the same wheat crop for 20 years attends an agricultural extension workshop. Now, he tests the soil before applying fertilizer. Both his crop yield and his mindset have expanded. The sign of this growth is shifting from the attitude of I know everything" to l have more to learn
2:Emotional Growth
What is it? Learning to manage anger patience gratitude and relationships.
👉:Example
Previously one might have picked a fight over a trivial matter; now if someone speaks harshly. one pauses to take a breath before responding. Instead of crying when a father goes abroad for work.one prays for his well-being. The sign of this growth is having a big heart—remaining strong for others even when one is personally shattered.
3:Economic Growth
It is not just about earning more. but about the efficient use of resources.
👉:Example:
Integrated farming deriving crops milk vegetables and fish from the same land. This creates four streams of income . reduces debt and increases savings. It marks a shift from worrying about "what we will eat tomorrow" to planning "what we will save for tomorrow."
My Perspective – Summary
If there is only economic growth without mental and emotional growth.a person may possess everything yet lack peace of mind. Conversely if mental and emotional growth exist but there is a struggle for basic sustenance.that progress remains incomplete. True progress is balanced progress—much like a tree: roots represent the spiritual the trunk the mental. branches the economic and the fruit the social.
Do you believe that growth depends on willingness? Explain |
|---|
Progress = Effort + Opportunity + Patience. If even one of these four is missing progress remains incomplete.
1: Search = Engine
Without the act of seeking. there is no movement. For instance if a farmer does not desire increased crop yields he will never seek training in modern agricultural techniques he will simply stick to old methods.
2:But mere desire isn't enough
Simply wanting to be rich doesn't make one rich
Consider two people: one merely wishes for success but never opens a book or heeds a teacher. The other observes a peer who studies four hours daily and tries again even after failing.Ten years later the second person becomes a doctor while the first has done nothing but voice his desires.
3:What else is needed for progress?
1: Effort: Translating intent into action.
2: Opportunity/Knowledge: Access to the right information and mentors.
3: Patience A tree doesn't grow in a day it requires the courage to persist even after failing two or three times.
4: Circumstances Floods or illnesses may strike in such times it is your inner resolve that pulls you back on track.
Summary in one line
Opportunity opens the door but only hard work and patience can carry you through it. Progress happens when I want to is paired with "I am willing to put in the work.💛

I really liked your example of the tree because it made me think about how growth actually happens in real life. We sometimes want to see results quickly, but just like the seed needs time under the soil before we see anything, our own progress can take time too. The part about learning from mistakes also stood out to me because nobody gets everything right from the beginning.
I also agree with your point that growth is not only about money. Learning patience, controlling our emotions and improving our relationships are also signs that we are becoming better. For me, the line that growth is about taking root rather than racing is something worth remembering. 😊
