Nigeria's 90,000 Kilometres Fibre Optic Network
Nigeria has borrowed loans from international development partners to commerce the Project BRIDGE—a 90,000 kilometres fibre optic network project—in October.
The project will expand Nigeria's fibre backbone from roughly 35,000km to 125,000km and is central to the government's target of raising the digital economy's GDP contribution to 21% by 2027.
Over $900 million has already been secured from the World Bank, African Development Bank, and EBRD, and they're still going to $2 billion which is the amount estimated to complete the project.
