Diary End of the week!

I came across some interesting news today about the growing use of AI in healthcare. Hospitals and researchers are experimenting with AI for analysing medical images, organising records and helping doctors find information faster. What I find interesting is that much of this work happens quietly. People tend to notice chatbots because they can see them, while these less visible applications may have a more practical effect.

There is also a lot of attention on AI agents again. The idea seems simple enough, give an AI a task and let it handle several steps. The difficult part is making sure it knows when to stop, when to ask for help and when it should not take an action. That problem seems more important to me than making an agent sound clever.

My own problem today involved a file that suddenly refused to open. I tried opening it several times and assumed it had become corrupted. After checking around, I discovered that I was trying to open an older copy from a different folder. The actual file was perfectly fine.

I spent more time investigating the wrong file than I needed to.

The weather was quite pleasant today. There was some sunshine in the morning and a little rain later. The air still feels humid, but it is becoming more comfortable as the season changes. I kept meals simple and had a lighter dinner.

I also spent some time cleaning up my downloads folder. It had become one of those places where everything gets dumped because there is always the thought of sorting it out later. I finally removed a lot of old installers and temporary files.

The evening feels calm now. One confusing file problem is solved, the downloads folder is cleaner and I learned a little more about where AI is being used outside the usual chatbot world.

Nothing particularly exciting happened today, but things are a little more organised than they were this morning.

That is good enough for me tonight.
