Beyond Logic: Why I Turned to the Occult as a Non-Believer
We are told that the world is strictly divided into two camps: the rational skeptics who demand cold, hard data, and the spiritually devoted who rely on faith.
For years, I firmly belonged to the first camp. As an atheist, I viewed the world through a lens of strict materialism—if science couldn't prove it, it didn’t exist. But pure logic can be a cold house to live in, especially when you are searching for meaning, dealing with emotional chaos, or craving the comfort of ritual.
That is how I stumbled into a world I once ridiculed: the occult. By combining deep meditation with esoteric rituals, I didn’t find God, and I didn’t start believing in literal demons. Instead, I discovered that quiet introspection mixed with ancient symbolic practices could serve as powerful psychological tools for a modern, skeptical mind.
Have you ever used secular rituals? What are your thoughts on combining skepticism with the esoteric?
