You would never get that close to the herons up here in Indiana. They're much more wild than the ones that are used to the tourists in PCB. I love that area! Here's a heron I caught down there in PCB not too far in the past. Who knows, it may be related to yours :) 
Yeah, the herons down here aren't afraid of people at all. I see them standing pretty much beside fishermen all the time. Nice photo, btw!
