CONTEST WORLD OF XPILAR WEEK 8 | SUNRISE AND SUNSET PHOTOGRAPHY | The Sky That Stopped Me in My Tracks

in #photography7 days ago

There are mornings when the sky does something so extraordinary that you forget everything — your phone, your worries, your plans for the day. You simply stop. And you look.

This was one of those mornings.
I woke up earlier than usual, before the city noise began, before the calls and the traffic and the busyness of daily life took over. The air was cool and still. And when I stepped outside and looked up, the sky above me was on fire.
Not literally — but in every way that matters. The colors stretched from deep orange at the horizon to a soft, dusty pink higher up, fading finally into the quiet blue of early morning. No filter could have made it more beautiful. No camera fully captured what my eyes saw. But I tried anyway.
There is something deeply human about watching a sunrise or sunset. Every culture on earth, throughout all of history, has stopped to watch the sky change color at the edges of the day. It does not matter where you live or what language you speak — a beautiful sky speaks to everyone.
That morning, standing there alone with the world still asleep around me, I felt something I can only describe as gratitude. Gratitude for being awake to see it. Gratitude for having eyes that could take it in. Gratitude for the simple, overwhelming beauty of a sky that asked for nothing in return.
Photography, for me, is not about having the best camera or the most expensive equipment. It is about being present in a moment that will never come again — and doing your best to hold onto it before it disappears.
The sun does not wait. It rises and sets on its own schedule, indifferent to whether anyone is watching. That morning, I was watching. And I am glad I was.
I share this photo not because it is perfect — it is not. But because it is real. This is what the sky looked like from where I stood, on a quiet morning, when the world was still and the light was doing something magical.
I hope it brings you even a fraction of the peace I felt in that moment."Chase the light — it will not wait for you
