Stop Asking Why—Remove the Poison First

in #poisonedyesterday

The Poisoned Arrow is one of the most profound teachings of the Buddha, preserved in the Cūḷamālukya Sutta (MN 63) of the Majjhima Nikāya in the Tripitaka. In this timeless Buddhist story, the Buddha explains why we should stop chasing endless philosophical questions and instead focus on ending suffering through wisdom, mindfulness, and right practice.

Like a person struck by a poisoned arrow, we often waste precious time asking "Why?" instead of removing the causes of our suffering.

This story explores the Three Mental Poisons:
🏹 Greed (Lobha) – Endless craving that keeps the mind restless.
🔥 Hatred (Dosa) – Anger and resentment that harm ourselves before others.
🌑 Delusion (Moha) – Ignorance that prevents us from seeing reality as it truly is.
