GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT Of FEAR OR TIMIDITY
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and
of a sound mind. Not Ashamed of the Gospel."
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
Through the above passage of the Bible, one could deduce that Timothy had problem with timidity or fear. Apostle Paul was trying to encourage him not to allow fear or timidity to hinder him from doing what he had been assigned to do.
The next verse, which is verse 8, Paul was talking about him, Timothy, not being ashamed of the gospel and him, Paul, the prisoner. That he should share in the sufferings for the gospel.
If you are an introverted person, you may have a similar problem with that of Timothy. It is a temperamental problem, but it could be overcome. This is the reason why you would need to depend more on God, the Holy Spirit, for help, enablement, and boldness.
In most cases, the introverted ones are usually of brilliant minds with brilliant ideas, but they do battle a lot with timidity or reservations.
On the other side are talkers who know nothing, but they always want to talk because they like talking even when what they are saying does not make any sense. The talkers would have already talked before they started to think about what they have said. That is why, most of the time, what they have said may not be meaningful.
Introverts needed a strong cordiality with God through the Holy Spirit. If they succeeded in building a strong communion with God through the Holy Spirit, they are always great in doing or executing whatever is committed to their hands by God.
In fact, out of all the four temperamental groups, they are the ones who know how to walk with God most. Timothy did a great work in Ephesus. Paul knew he has the potential; he just needed to be stirred and be motivated to do the work.
The melancholics or introverts are always committed, faithful, and sacrificial. They can endure and sacrifice or pay any price because of whatever is committed to their hands. Being an introvert is not a minus but a plus. They are deep thinkers, planners, and analytical; but they could be a perfectionist. This but usually make
them withdraw back in whatever good they have thought or planned to do—It is one of their weaknesses. But through the grace and the encouragement of whoever is around them, they could do a great work and exploit.
Thus, do not allow timidity or shyness, It is a byproduct of fear. And fear is a spirit. It is definitely not from God; it is of the devil. Hold of fear or timidity is broken in your life in Jesus' name.
Peace.
