Paul & the church of Corinth: I am not to blame. From now on I am going to preach to the Gentiles. Acts 18:6

Paul's missionary journeys were the beginning of the evangelization of the pagan world, and until that time, the majority of Christians were of Jewish origin and were called the sect of the Nazarene. And it is because of his missionary journeys that Paul was also called the apostle to the Gentiles. Paul's first journey was brief and short, but the second was longer and more fruitful, reaching Macedonia and Greece with his missionary work, where he founded, among many churches, the Church of Corinth.
And it was probably with the founding of this Church that many changes occurred in Paul, and that profoundly affected the destiny of the early Church. The city of Corinth was a cosmopolitan port in which not only Greek culture, with its philosophy, was present, but there were also many foreign communities that traded in the city. And perhaps because of this, Paul felt the need to begin writing his letters, the first texts of the New Testament. But something else also happened in Corinth; it was from the foundation of this Church that Paul dedicated with more emphasis his preaching to the pagans. The Book of Acts relates that in this city, Paul received special spiritual protection from God and preached the word of God for about a year and a half.
And the Book of Acts about the founding of the church of Corinth relates that Paul preached in the city's synagogue on Saturdays until his disciples Silas and Timothy arrived, and from then on he was able to dedicate himself fully to teaching the word of God. But since many members of the synagogue rejected Paul's teaching, the apostle responded: "Whatever happens to you will be your own fault! I am not to blame. From now on I am going to preach to the Gentiles" Acts 18:6. With this event, a new path opened up for Paul. Through the preaching of the word to the pagans, Corinth became one of the great centers for the spread of Christianity, and the importance of this Church was such during the first century after Christ that Paul dedicated two important epistles to it to strengthen the members of that Christian community in their faith.
