Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 3 : Question 1
Welcome Steemit Team if you choose to visit my city Canberra and giving me the opportunity to invite you to a picnic.
Where would you hold the picnic
Since you have not mentioned the dates of your team's trip so I believe your team is visiting in coming weeks. I have no better place for your picnic program than Floriade, Australia's biggest celebration of spring, in Canberra to be held at Commonwealth Park from Saturday 12 September to Sunday 11 October 2026 (An annual program). Oh, I am sure you know the Australian spring is different because this place is located mostly in the Southern Hemisphere and part in the Eastern Hemisphere.
We have a full month this festival goes on in the same month every year so choice is yours when to fix your program. Just let me know so I make the arrangements in advance.

What food would you provide to show off your local food culture?
I thought for a while and then decided to treat you with my choice of ethnic food because you can get Continental/Western food anywhere you like in your own place so being an Indian I thought I will keep my list full of Indian foods which we have in abundance in Australia. I have selected an Indian restaurant close to Commonwealth Park, Canberra.
There are several high class Indian restaurants located near Commonwealth Park in Canberra so I can easily access fantastic North Indian food and since I belong to North India so I have selected North Indian food options. I visit all of them but for Steemit Team I have zeroed down to Taj Mahal Canberra an Indian Restaurant for a great picnic experience.
- Special Note: This restaurant is at walkable distance so if you wish to eat at the restaurant, the choice is yours.
Are there any other local Steemians you would invite to the picnic?
Unfortunately no, so I will be your sole host and will feel a great honor bestowed upon me if you accept my invitation.
Note: If Steemit team is interested to have alcoholic drinks, I can arrange them as we have a large variety of liquors in Australia from wines to beer and you know what I mean, but in that case you will have to visit this bar inside the picnic area of course.
You can also make up the shopping list and show us where you will buy the food if you want.

You asked me about the only dish? Actually I am a Punjabi and chicken used to be my favorite but I have stopped all meats for the last 2 decades however if I have to serve just one dsh I will go for Tandoori Chicken. That's complete food in my views. Or if they go by my current choice, I will ask them to try Chole Chawal.

Greetings, friend @dove11!
I'm so glad you're so busy with the two questions of the week for the Steemit challenge, and this motivates me to prepare my entry for this second question as well.
Nothing would make you happier than welcoming the wonderful Steemit team to your beloved city of Canberra, specifically to Floridade, for the Australian Spring Festival. You recommended Indian cuisine, which is abundant in Australia, and it would be a very special touch for the Steemit team.
Your welcome to such a prestigious team on the platform is fantastic, and I wish you the very best of luck.

@dove11, What a beautiful planet we have, and how magically nature is ordered. It is springtime where you are, and the quintessential spring flowers—magnificent tulips—are in bloom, even though the tulips in Eurasia finished blooming long ago...
I would come to you for a picnic just to experience this magical scene—to see tulips blooming for a second time in the same year.
In nature, everything follows a pattern and adheres to its own rules. The first photo stunned me—how could there be tulips in September? It turns out it is possible... but on a unique continent: Australia, where spring has arrived!

Hello @hive180821, I am not sure whom I am addressing to but I could not stop myself answering you reading your wonderful poetic comment. Yes. that's true, I have been watching this wonderful event every year during this period and would you believe that this is a temporary show that goes on for one month? They bring these Tulips from different parts of Australia and of course from other parts of the world in woden boxes, millions of them and decorate them so beautifull that people visit the even coming from different parts of the world. They missed it just once during the COVID period.

The plan to choose Floriade in Canberra for the picnic is really wonderful. The arrangement of North Indian food with the charming atmosphere of spring flowers will make the whole experience more interesting. The menu of Butter Chicken, Seekh Kebab, Rogan Josh and various types of Naan is also quite tastefully arranged. I liked your beautiful mentality of welcoming the Steemit Team warmly. The whole arrangement can undoubtedly turn into a joyful and memorable gathering.

Hi @dove11
Wow, you are planning the event at a wonderful location. I really like the look of this place; there are countless flowers in bloom all around the venue. Personally, I find the spot truly delightful. If I ever get the chance, I will certainly visit this place and take at least a thousand photos with the flowers. I have always loved floral scenery; I particularly enjoy the fragrance and the unique structure of each flower.
There is such a beautiful variety of flowers blooming here—the sight is truly refreshing and soothing to the soul. You also shared details about the restaurant, where high-quality food will be served. I really like every aspect of the venue, and I hope everyone will enjoy it as a picnic spot.
Have a nice day - #s34engagement
Thanks, I have myself taken thousand of photos of this fun spot during my 5 visits of this place. I would have posted 20-30 pics had it been a travel post but this is just an invitation to the Steemit team so that limits the scope. Yes this place is one of the most visited picnic spot of the world where people from allover the world come and visit. There are other tourist attractions around ths place so if the team comes I will show them all.
