Steemit Challenge Season 34 - Week 3 : Question 1
In Africa, Nigeria is one of the best places for foreigners to visit because Nigerians are hospitable people, and there are great places in Nigeria with a beautiful atmosphere and natural resources. I would be so glad to welcome the Steemit team anytime to Abuja if the team were to visit my country, precisely my town.
I would be the happiest person to welcome the Steemit team and ensure that they're well taken care of in Abuja, and I would ensure that I organise a well-relaxed outdoor picnic where we could enjoy good Nigerian food, beautiful scenery, and have meaningful conversations about the Steemit platform and STEEM coin.
Picnic Location 📍
In Abuja, every new visitor wants to explore the Millenium park because of its scenic environment, which I would also want the Steemit team to have a first-hand experience of the Millennium Park, Abuja.
Having said that the Millenium park Abuja, would be the location for our picnic in Abuja. I am sure the Steemit team would like the place because it is a peaceful and beautiful place with a lot of greenery in it, making it a perfect location for five people to sit together, discuss, take pictures, enjoy the outdoors, and eat.
Our Picnic Team 👥
Despite how big Nigeria is, it is very easy for people to meet in one location, and as Steemians, some of my fellow Nigerian steemit leaving in Abuja, while some are close to Abuja, and there would be five people at the venue with the following roles.
- Two members of the Steemit Team - Visitors
- Myself - Host
Local Steemians: - @ruthjoe - Caterer
- @bossj23 - entertainer
These two Steemians that I have invited are active Nigerian Steemians who are very active on the Steemit platform and are best suited for the role that has been given to them. Even though I haven't met with any of them physically, I believe they wouldn't turn down my invitation as long as they know the Steemit team would be present, and I see the invitation as an opportunity for me and fellow local Steemians to strengthen friendship and collaboration.
Nigerian Food on the Menu

Nigeria local food image of Millenium park Abuja
To give the Steemit team a real taste of what Nigerian food looks like, I would serve the Steemit team a combination of popular Nigerian foods, then serve them with sandwiches.
- Jollof rice - the favorite type served at Nigerian party
- Fried plantain (do) - crispy, delicious, and sweet
- Grilled chicken
- Salad - the Nigerian style of salad
- Pepper sauce - for anyone who enjoys eating spicy food
- Chin chin
- Fresh fruits
- Chivita juice
- Bottled water and chilled Zibo drink.
Jollof rice, fried plantain, and chicken would be the top food highlights, which our simple picnic outing at Millenium park, Abuja, can turn into a celebration.
My shopping list
Since we would be five people at the location, my shopping list would be different from my personal shopping list, which would be as shown below 👇.
| Items | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Rice | 2 kg |
| Chicken | 2 kg |
| Plantain | 10 |
| Tomatoes | 2 kg |
| Pepper | 500 g |
| Onions | 1 kg |
| Vegetable oil (Kings) | 1 litre |
| Spices/seasoning | 1 set |
| Salad vegetables | 1 set |
| Chin chin | 1 - 2 pack |
| Chivita juice | 1 pack |
| Bottled water | 2 packs |
| Zobo drink | 1 pack |
| Fresh fruits | 1 basket |
I would go to Maraba market, where things are more affordable and fresh, and buy the items on my shopping list. I would ensure that all the fruits are fresh and healthy for eating.
Indeed, it would be a great thing in my life and in that of other steemians and Nigerians as a whole to have the steemit team in Abuja to share the beautiful culture of Nigeria, talk about investing in Nigeria, make the steemit platform great, and exchange ideas with local steemians.

Thanks Team!
Indeed, I would be so happy to welcome the Steemit team to my town, and I am sure the Steemit team would get to enjoy their stay. Yes, I have to include the location for easy identification. Thanks for your support. #s34engagement
Hello, friend @josepha.
Welcome to the great Steemit team! You'll thoroughly enjoy Nigeria, one of Africa's most popular tourist destinations. It would be an honor to take the Steemit team to Abuja, Nigeria's most visited city, where there's a wonderful park you'll love. Since you're not vegetarian, you'll enjoy both the park and typical Nigerian dishes like fried chicken, jollof rice, fried plantains, and other foods served in Nigeria during holidays.
It was a pleasure reading your welcome message to the Steemit team.
Best of luck!

Indeed, I am sure the Steemit team would enjoyed they stay, and I am surprised to know that you must have heard so much about tourist attractions in Nigeria and its delicious food. Thanks for your support. #s34engagement
That’s right, my friend. Given the extraordinary welcome you extended to the Steemit team, I am sure they thoroughly enjoyed the tourist attractions Nigeria has to offer and its incredible cuisine—which, without a doubt, looks spectacular.
All the best, my friend.

The picnic plan in Abuja has been beautifully arranged. The arrangement of popular Nigerian dishes like Jollof Rice, Grilled Chicken and Fried Plantains along with the beautiful surroundings of Millennium Park is really attractive. In addition, the plan to involve local Steemians also beautifully highlights the aspect of sociability and friendship. The plan to buy fresh ingredients from Maraba Market is also quite realistic. The hospitality and culture of Nigeria have been beautifully highlighted in the entire arrangement.

Thank you for your feedback. It is the best that I can afford for the Steemit team, and besides taking them to Millenium park, Abuja, there are other nice places that I can take them to. I choose to do my shopping at Maraba because it is where things are more affordable than inside the city. #s34engagement
Your picnic plan at Millennium Park in Abuja is really great. The attempt to present local culture, active Steemians and delicious Nigerian food all together is commendable. The menu of Jollof rice, grilled chicken and fried plantain is especially interesting. The plan to buy fresh ingredients from Maraba Market is also great. If the Steemit Team really comes to Abuja, which Nigerian food do you think they should definitely try Jollof rice, grilled chicken or fried plantain?
#s34engagement
Remembered that none of the Steemit team are vegetarian, so Nigerian Jollof rice would be the best food they could enjoy; had they been vegetarian, then something special could have been added to their meal. Thank you for your support. #s34engagement
I find it rewarding to be an entertainer as that's what I love doing best. The gathering won't just be an ethically formal one, but would be one that would live in the heart of many. I would definitely ask questions while doing my part and as for the shopping list, you'll be a good event planner because I wasn't expecting these combo. Lit. 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, sir, even if you don't say it, I just know you're the perfect person who can play such a role due to your participation and how creative you're when it comes to drama. I am also glad to know that you will honour my invitation despite your location. #s34engagement
@josepha, I really enjoyed your post; it deserves nothing but praise. In my view, you truly captured the essence of a picnic: it is always held outdoors—amidst fresh air and a beautiful setting like a green lawn, trees, or a park. What could be better?
I was also struck by your genuine hospitality; you selected the finest ingredients and dishes, yet made no mention of costs.
My country shares this same culture of hospitality: guests are treated to the very best, and no money changes hands—the host organizing the picnic covers everything.
#s34engagement
Thank you so much. I just think it is the best I can do for the Steemit team.
